When you are new to plant care, start with one observation rather than several treatments at once. Write down what changed, check the pot and conditions, and keep a photo of the starting point. A first check, without guessing a cure
Illustrative example: a plant near a window has two drooping leaves and the potting mix feels wet below the surface. Those are observations. “It needs more water” is a guess. Before acting, check whether water can drain and whether the plant was recently moved.
Root zone means the part of the growing medium where the roots are. Drainage means excess water can leave the pot. Wilting describes drooping posture; it does not name the cause. Use the watering guide for the actual dry-versus-wet check rather than memorizing a universal schedule.

Keep the first check connected

Know when to ask for help
If the plant deteriorates rapidly, its base becomes soft or the problem spreads, ask a suitable local plant specialist. It is also reasonable to ask when you cannot make sense of the observations. Bring the photos and short timeline; you do not need to arrive with a disease name.
